An important activity of the Friends, particularly of long-standing member Phil Tomlinson, has been assembling a wealth of historical material covering the 150 years of the Garden’s existence – photos, maps, stories, plant collections, and more.
This material is being curated by the Wellington City Archives and will be available soon.
Memorials and Plaques Register
A major accomplishment of a prominent Friend of the Wellington Botanic Garden – the late Sheena Bennett – was the creation of a register of plaques and memorials in the Wellington Botanic Garden.
Bolton Street Memorial Park memorial seats and information plaques are included in the database. Tree and plant items are not yet available.
